Bira 91, a modern beer brand born in India, is renowned for its bold identity and delicious offerings. Headquartered in New Delhi, the brand sought to create a workspace that reflects its youthful and creative spirit. Located in a heritage building at one of the city’s most prestigious addresses, the office design needed to blend functionality, creativity, and the character of its historical site. The vision was to build a dynamic and inspiring workspace that resonates with Bira 91’s brand values while catering to their vibrant, young team.

Designing the headquarters for Bira 91 posed several challenges. The space had to creatively reflect the brand’s core identity while preserving the inherent personality of the heritage building. It required a delicate balance between old-world charm and contemporary aesthetics, ensuring the historical elements of the structure were retained without compromising on modern functionality. The office also needed to accommodate a variety of workstyles, foster collaboration, and include unique design features that would make it a standout workplace. Additionally, integrating a sense of fun and playfulness, reflective of the brand’s ethos, was essential.

The resulting design masterfully blended heritage elements with contemporary finishes, creating a workspace that is both functional and visually captivating. The old architectural features, such as fireplaces, were preserved and paired with sleek, straight-line furniture and quirky art pieces, achieving a striking juxtaposition. The predominantly white color palette, accented with black and natural finishes, tied the design together, offering a clean yet dynamic aesthetic.

Unique design elements, like the stock ticker stretching across the main workspace, added a creative edge, serving as both a messaging surface and a visual feature. Customized furniture and bespoke design details further elevated the space’s uniqueness. The breakout area, styled as a beer bar and thoughtfully placed under a skylight linking the two floors, became the centerpiece of the office. Flooded with natural light, it not only served as a central meeting point but also reinforced the brand’s playful and innovative identity.
